Pranav's musical journey with his clarinet began when he was in 4th grade. He started learning western music and played in his school band for 2 years. He was a curious and intuitive learner. Carnatic music (South Indian Classical Music) had always been part of Pranav's household. His natural curiosity kindled the desire to play Carnatic music on his clarinet. He experimented at length, figured out the keys and produced the right notes to play the basic lessons of Carnatic music.

Witnessing Pranav's interest and talent, he and his parents felt the need for a guru (teacher) to train him further. That is when the great clarinet Everest, Shri AKC Natarajan, came into Pranav's life. After hearing Pranav play few basic songs, AKC identified the talent and agreed to train him.

Pranav started receiving daily lessons on skype which lasted for 2 hours. He learned to manage his school work, sports, and clarinet training well. During Summer holidays he traveled to Trichy, India (AKC's residence) and took personal training from the great guru. At Trichy, the classes lasted 6 hours every day. AKC was thrilled to see Pranav's positive attitude towards mastering the art form.

He has been under the tutelage of Sri. AKC Natarajan since 2011, learning the intricacies of Carnatic music on the Clarinet. He is currently the second person in the world who has performed an Arangetram (Graduation) on the Clarinet.
